Analyze Your Book Sales Trends on TitleZ
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my monthly blog updates by email. As a thank-you gift, I'll send you my free special report, Your Author Website: 21 Content Ideas for Profit and Publicity. Thanks for visiting!
If you’re a book author, you’ll want to check out TitleZ, a website that enables you to view and analyze sales rankings from the Amazon.com database. You can view both current and historical sales rankings, which makes this a useful tool for authors with a current title as well as authors like me who have a lot of older titles still for sale on Amazon.
If you want to see how your competitors are doing, you can easily analyze competitive titles. If you’re in the planning stages of writing a book or creating a book proposal, searching by keyword can give you helpful clues on the current popularity of specific topics. And best of all, TitleZ is currently free in its beta period.
Travel Writing Resources on the Web
Although I’m best known as a technology and business journalist, I also enjoy writing about travel and have published a book (Smart Travel, Ziff-Davis Press) and numerous articles on this topic. Here are a few of my favorite travel writing resources on the web:
- Media Kitty. Sign up for a free account and receive access to news, press trip announcements, and story ideas. Includes ezine.
- Adventure Travel Media Source. A great source of news and press trip announcements for adventure travel writers.
- Travel Publicity Leads. Enter a free information request for background info, media kits, press trip invites, and more from the travel media.
- Travelwriters.com. Offers travel media news, a discussion board, and a travel article syndication service. Access to the site and ezine are free, but there’s a $49 annual fee for access to the press trip announcements.
Another great tip for travel writers seeking destination information: go to the website of the convention and visitors bureau for your target location. Many have special section specifically for the travel media that include press releases, access to professional photos to accompany your story, press trip announcements, detailed background information suited to the needs of travel writers, and other info not available to the general public.
